Early today, many Kenyans woke up to the sad and disturbing news that Gikomba market was on fire. This was a continuation of the numerous infernos that have engulfed the home of Kenya’s second-hand stalls.
The market has had about 7 fires since 2010. They are:
-September 8th 2010
-March 13th 2012
-March 18th 2014
-October 16th 2014
-June 25th 2015
-October 6th 2017
-June 28th 2018
Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja demanded for prompt action by DCI to help end the continued fires in gikomba market. He said:
We like the work being done by the DCI and we call for the same zeal to be used in addressing the fires at Gikomba.
He also called on Kenyans to donate blood at KNH to help help save lives of those who are admitted after suffering burns in the 3 am inferno.
