Just the other day, MCSK held peaceful elections to elect officials from among it's members to leadership positions. For those of you not in the know, MCSK is a body that is tasked with the protection and promotion of musicians' interests. It is the Music Copyright Society of Kenya.

Among the hopefuls who had offered themselves as potential leaders included Lady B, the former genge artist who turned to gospel and Frasha.

The lost in what was a dismal display of camaraderie from urban artists as their River road counterparts carried the day.

Why do I describe this thus? Well, River Road are the guys who although push the entertainment industry forward with all the movies and songs produced, are also largely behind piracy of music.

Reports from those on the ground blamed the artists themselves for playing diva to the extent that they compromised their well being.

Well, word has it that Frasha and Lady b will get a second chance to rally the urban artists if the MCSK AGM deems it fit to hold a rerun of the elections. The AGM will be held in Kangaru Boys Secondary School in Embu.

Each participant will receive 3,000/- as transport allowance. However, only the Nairobi elections would be up for a re-run as there were no irregularities reported anywhere else.

Keep it Mpasho for more information as it is availed.
