This is the second installment of the story of the homosexual human rights activist who was nearly shot and killed by police after being allegedly set up. And now he tells us whom he suspects of setting him up:
Since I was the one who seemed approachable enough, I escorted the three remaining officers downstairs to the gate

As we were taking the stairs they told me what was really going on. We had been reported under . Were told we were armed. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
They told me they had come to shoot and kill but after entering the house and finding us drunk and laughing were surprised.
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
That we collaborated with the police and were not reactive was what might have saved us from being shot. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
We went downstairs and two of the police entered the white van. Three told me to take them in my car as they handed their guns
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
They asked me what I did and I told them. They were amused. Since they were that friendly, I decided to take them to my house — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
As I reversed, the one cop seated behind me received a call, ostensibly from his boss as he was very formal in answering
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
He was talking to his boss telling him (in Swahili): Those boys are just having fun in the house. They are innocent. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
To them the issue was not that we told them we were all gay - this was my concern - but that they were told we were armed
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
I drove to my house as the white van followed me closely. We were making small talk and laughing at the hilarity of it all — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
The five of them entered my house. Sat down and I offered them shots of whiskey or soda. They took the soda
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
They then offered their apologies for ruining our party and said they were acting on a report they had received earlier. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
I then went to my bedroom, took out KShs 5,000 and gave each KShs 1,000 and thanked them for actually following up
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
They heartily thanked me for the money and divided it amongst themselves. Gave each my card and told them to call me in case — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
We then left and I went to my car as they boarded their van. One reached out and told me he will call me over the lubricants.
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
They then left and I went to my car and drove back to house where we were and found my friends having a ball. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
Me and my friends started laughing as we talked about what just happened. The caretaker/agent was nowhere to be seen
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
A few minutes later, the caretaker/agent sent and SMS to the house owner asking to meet him downstairs. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
The caretaker/agent said he was called by the landlord who said he goes, reports us to the police since we looked 'suspicious'
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
He said he was sorry and that the landlord was acting on a tip off from some of the neighbors in the building — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
He asked the house owner to come to their offices near Mutindwa market in the morning to discuss what happened
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
We then all went back to the house, got more beer, laughed at the hilarity of it all and gave thanks we were not shot. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
is working, people. But it can be abused. Many buildings have a suggestion box or number to report 'suspicious' neighbors.
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
I actually want to commend the police who after telling them we were homosexuals, said they were there for . — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
And I am glad this initiative helped the cops get to know about lubricants. I am sure the one who took the box thanked us.
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
This morning, I received a WhatsApp message from one of the cops I had given my card to. His pic showed him in a suit — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
He was thanking me for the condoms and lubricants they got. I said I can supply more if they want. He said he would tell me.
— DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
That is how my Sunday afternoon was yesterday. I have never been more thankful of a shot of Top Secret brandy than I was yesterday. — DENIS NZIOKA (@DenisNzioka)
