A man in Loruk village, Sibilo Sub location, Baringo North within Baringo County is on the run for scalding his five months’ infant following a domestic altercation with his wife over claims infidelity in their marriage

Paul Kipyeo Chesang who is a head teacher at Katakon primary school put his five-month-old son on fire following a domestic quarrel with his wife Ann Kipyego.

Ann managed to rescue the baby after a struggle and took him to Kabarnet referral hospital for treatment. She said that Kipsang was drunk during the incident.

“He had a panga and blocked the doorway to the kitchen as the child was crying. I struggled to get past him and rescue the child. It is not the first time he is trying to hurt this child, when he was three weeks he fractured his leg. This is our eighth child of the family.” She said

While reporting this incident, Irene Chepkwony, children's officer Baringo central sub-county condemned this act and asked for immediate arrest of the man.

"The child is in a critical condition and cannot even breastfeed, Kipsang has this time gone too far and has to face the law. We are asking the ministry of education to take up this matter because we cannot trust Kipsang with our children in school", she said.

Chepkwony has reported the incident to the OCS Loruk to arrest the head teacher who is still at large.
