'He was crying,' Mike Rua on John De Mathew's painful last moments before death

Mugithii singer Mike Rua and John De Mathew's best friend has been deeply affected by his death.

In a phone interview with KTN, Rua revealed how he and John De Mathew had spent the whole day together before he died in the grisly road accident.

He said they spent their Sunday at their fellow artiste Peter Kigia's fundraiser and later left for drinks at a pub along Thika Road.

We spent the whole of yesterday with him and we talked a lot, about music, about rights for musicians as he was the Chairman of Tamco (Talented Musicians Cooperative),' Rua said.

Rua narrated how De Mathew at some point got too emotional and started crying while they were still hanging out together.

The last moments, he was crying when I brought up something which i CANNOT REMEMBER SINCE WE WERE PARTYING.

Adding,

we talked about THE controversies we had here and there.

The heartbroken Rua couldn't talk anymore and he excused himself.

I don’t think it is the right time to talk about this thing, kindly call me sometime later,' he said.
