Drama!

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with pouring hot cooking oil on a fishmonger, claiming she snatched her husband.

Florence Naroto is also charged with creating a disturbance on June 17 in Pangani, Nairobi.

On that day, Caroline Oketch was at her place of work where she fries and sells fish when Naroto started accusing her of snatching her husband.

Naroto allegedly said her husband frequents Oketch’s joint to buy tilapia.

Naroto is reported to have further stated that the complainant had been hiding the man since July 2016. She called Oketch a prostitute.

Police records state that Naroto then picked the frying pan with hot cooking oil and poured it on Oketch, aiming for her head. She then fled.

Luckily, the oil landed on the complainant’s hands.

She was treated and reported the matter to the police.

Naroto denied the charges before chief magistrate Heston Nyaga and was released on Sh20,000 bail.

The case will be heard on October 16.
