After being shot seven times and left for dead, journalist Richard Muema has now regained conciousness.

Muema who is currently admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was able to recognise where he was

To top all that, he remembered to also wished his wife a happy birthday.

Muema was shot trying to save his pal who owns a shop in Kasarani.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Friday, November 15, Muema's wife, Mary Muema, who visited him in hospital where he underwent surgery revealed that they are optimistic about his recovery.

The two have twins.

Muema's brother said,

"These few days we have seen a miracle, he is a miracle and we thank God for the doctors at KNH for the way they have attended to him very well."

The brother also added that they would like help footing his escalating medical expenses.
