When Tarzan was still growing up in the forests of the Congo, he had a great friend, Chief Mbonga, who ruled over a vastly wealthy Congo region. Theirs was a long standing friendship, and the two coexisted quite well in the wilderness.

That is until something tragic happened and they found themselves at loggerheads. Their once great relationship plummeted to one of revenge and counter attack.

Moving on, Tarzan leaves the jungle for a modern life in London, for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side.

Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he has been set up as a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz).

During the interview, Chief Mbonga (played by Djimon Hounsou), felt it was a perfect role for him to represent the wealth and genuine beauty of Africa to the world.

“Africa has many amazing stories to tell the world...new stories are waiting to be told to humanity after centuries of so much indoctrination of the continent,” he is quoted saying in a Hollywood interview.

Not only that, he reveals that he felt a bit disoriented at first when he had to think in terms of shooting an African themed movie right in London. Watch the trailer here!
