Hamisa Mobetto has in an interview opened up on how her parents parted ways, when she was a few months old.

Hamisa got to meet her dad almost a decade later.

The mother of two was born in Mwanza but sadly had to relocate with her mother after the divorce.

In an interview with Classic FM radio she said,

'I was born in Mwanza but after that, my parents separated so we went to live with my grandmother elsewhere.

They did not part ways in a good way. It was very acrimonious.

Growing up I did not know my dad since when they parted I was a few months old.

In 2007, is when I met my dad for the first time.'

Hamisa, who is a mother of two only met her dad after she had cleared her class 7 studies.

'We had gone for Christmas shopping and I was to get a dress, I liked a particular dress but my mum being the fashionista she is, she did not like it.

So we went around looking for other options to no avail. It's after we went to the first shop that we heard someone calling after my mum.

On turning back we came face to face with my dad, the shop where I had seen the dress I liked was his.'

Hamisa said that her mother had since moved on and married her stepdad so when they saw her dad she was un-bothered.

'My mum just casually turned and told me 'That is your dad.'

I was very disappointed because I had played the scene on how the meeting with dad would be.

I thought it would be like a scene from a movie but it wasn't.

I just greeted him casually and he asked me to kneel down and greet him. He looked so much like me and he was so happy to see me.'

Hamisa added,

'After talking for sometimes he gave me the gown I had liked and so many other gifts. That is where my relationship with him started.

I am his firstborn. After two years he passed away but I am thankful to have met him.'
