Witchcraft is bad I admit, but can there be a humanly way of punishing those suspected of practicing it?

From decades ago, the Kisii-Nyanza region has been a "hub" of witchcraft, but a trend in Kisii county of burning to death old people suspected to be witches and wizards has now become very worrying.

Yesterday, January 14, 2017, residents of a village in Kisii county set ablaze two women alive after suspecting them to be witches.

The two, a mother and daughter, aged 95-years-old and 53-years-old respectively, were burnt to death inside their house.

A common trend in Kisii county where witchcraft is practiced far and wide, the killings might be linked to cases of enmity between rivals, or an actual witch diverting attention from themselves.

Those targeted are men and women of advanced age but questions have risen, asking how one is determined to be a witch and why these vigilante groups taking the law into their own hands have never been apprehended by law enforcement agencies.

For most elder members of society, enjoying their sunset years in peace has become a myth as they live in fear of being attacked by these groups.
