In July 2016, Congolese iconic rhumba musician Koffi Olomide created a storm when he was deported from Kenya after an incident that created uproar within Kenya and beyond.

He had jetted into Nairobi for a show, but this wasn't to be.

The Loi hit maker was caught on camera physically assaulting one of his female dancers by kicking her just a few minutes after he'd arrived with his band, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

This incident was highlighted by news outlets across the world. A subsequent show he was to hold in Zambia was also canceled following the Nairobi incident.

Well, the musician went ahead to apologize to the dancer and Kenyans at large but it seems like some people haven't really forgiven him for his past mistakes.

To show their displeasure with the artiste, they have now "killed" the singer.

Koffi Olomide was killed on Monday, January 9, this year... by the internet.

However, the artiste is alive and kicking!!!

On Friday, January 13, 2017, Koffi was in Cameroon for a performance.

He wrote on his social media:

"Thank you to all the cameroonians for your hospitality, I'll come back soon. ...

Thank you..."

He posted this video, a day after his "death", on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, on his way to a performance at Cameroon's capital, Yaounde.

It is not the first time Koffi has been killed by the internet.

In January 2010, he was killed by the internet. A few days later, he held an emotional press conference in Kinshasa, DRC, where he dispelled the death rumours in person.
