Now that all 'ratchet-like' events have been branded Project X, I'm sure many people are now asking about the right procedure of organizing events in Nairobi. Did the Project X organizers follow the proper procedure? Let's find out.

First, it starts with an idea. There's usually that crazy dude in your team who always comes up with the wildest and craziest ideas. Most of them are usually from the internet and movies.

Secondly, for small events, you don't really need a big plan, all you need is a venue, your preferred kind of 'high' and a bunch of lads and lasses willing to pay a small entrance fee. Also, you don't really need to use so much money on advertisement. Just find a few young influencers and you're ready to go.

On many occasions, those who organize such events don't usually get any permits unless they're going to play loud music and the neighbors are just b*tches.

For big events, you first have to secure a venue for the event, then write a letter requesting for permission to the nearest police post indicating the date, the venue, and time. The police will then confirm if you've actually secured a venue and security.

If you're going to play music at your event, you'll need to get a permit from PRISK (Performers Rights Society of Kenya), then also get another one from National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).

For this kind of event you might need proper advertising to make sure that people attend. We've seen many that failed because of poor marketing.

A day to the event, you'll need to confirm with the police, PRISK and NEMA to let them know if the event is still on.

So, did they authorities know about Project X? Did they get all these permits? Let us know what you think on the comment section below.
