Remember when Embu speaker Julius Kariuki Mate was abducted 5 months ago? Well, the governor was later found abandoned along a road in Limuru area.
After investigations, 34 year old Joseph Ng'ang'a Waithera; a carpenter, told detectives that he was among four men who kidnapped the speaker from Utalii Hotel in Nairobi. He disclosed to the detectives that he snatched him outside the Utalii Hotel gate and drove him to a junction near NIS headquarters where they transferred the speaker to a car with criminals who were to take his life.
The carpenter went ahead to reveal that Governor martin Wambora had a hand in it, and he claims that he met the governor at Safari Park Hotel to plan the abduction to which he was paid KES50,000. But the governor on the other hand denies meeting the kidnappers.
It's yet to be decided whether Julius Kariuki Mate will be charged by the director of public prosecutions Keriako Tobiko after being forwarded the investigation findings.
