Ain't church the best place to be at? Apart from getting showered by the dew from heaven in form of blessings, you get a special place in people's hearts. The priests, pastors, evangelists, bishops and other men and women of cloth have God (and the congregation) to thank. After their "toiling" work ministering the gospel to the masses, they sometimes, get rewarded.

While others literally "steal" from God and the congregates, there are others who stick by their calling. They do their work in such an exemplary way, that the church membership wish they would never leave. And that's the case with one, the Most Reverend, Dr Eliud Wabukala, the fifth Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya.

Yesterday at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, Wabukala was praised by the hundreds of attending worshipers for the "good" work he has done during his seven-year term. The 65-year-old is expected to step down in June, after a new Archbishop is elected in mid-May.

As a sign of gratitude and appreciation for the man of God, worshipers at the ACK chose to send Wabukala "away" in the most gracious way. They made sure that he got a gift that he would probably keep in his mind for the longest time.

Whether the man from Bungoma, who succeeded Benjamin Nzimbi, will be going home to rear chickens and rabbits, or even look after some goats, cattle or do some macadamia farming, he will not forget the grand gesture by the people he led for over half a decade.
