Yesterday after he was done with his show, where he hosted Kipchumba Murkomen and John Mbadi, Willis Raburu led Citizen TV journalists in surprising Hussein.

He was shocked as his colleagues made way to the studio with cakes, flowers, and a portrait.

The shy presenter while giving his speech said,

I’m humbled and moved by the pleasant and kind messages I have received from each and every one of you…It has been an amazing journey, 10 years, but you the viewer has made it all worth it, all of you here including all the guests I have hosted. I appreciate the support and guidance of RMS chair SK Macharia, managing director Wachira Waruru, my family and ofcourse my wife who has been very supportive and colleagues I've interacted with.

Adding,

Lastly, I appreciate the viewer in my line of work, you rarely say you're resigning or you're quitting and that's why I say tonight I'm taking a break.

Hussein has been praised by many for his crisp and candid manner of conducting interviews.

Check out messages from Kenyans.

Willis Raburu My brother, I have no words... for now thank you, for advice, for the consulting, for the correction, for the drives when I was a nobody with no name, for showing me that you can be good at what you do just by being you @HusseinMohamed

Fayzah Wanjiru @Hussein I have seen you grow in this career to become who you are today. I have been your cheerleader and number one fun. To me, you remain the top interviewer, the best this country has. I never thought our time to part would come this soon, but such is life. We got to the intersection where our journeys must take different turns. Though I am sad to see you leave, I wish you all the best in your next big assignment. Always keep the smile. Goodbye Hussein.
