It has been an emotional rollercoaster for socialite Zari Hassan and her family after her ex-hubby Ivan Semwanga fell ill and was admitted in a south African hospital.

Yesterday, Zari has to quash rumours that Ivan had died.

She wrote on social media, "This is an announcement: Kindly note Ivan Semwanga is not allowed visitors any more, he is in critical condition and his privacy as a patient is being invaded i. We will appreciate if you continue praying for him.

Stay blessed!"

However in the wee hours of today, Ivan breathed his last and went to be with his maker.

Zari announced the sad news in a painfully emotional post.

"God loves those that are special and that's exactly who you were & I guess that's why he wanted you to himself. You have touched and helped thousands, you did wonders and I remember you telling me "life is too short Zee let me live it to the fullest", this very dark hour it makes sense why you always said those words to me. To your sons, you were a hero-some kind of superman. Anyone who has ever been in your presence knows what a charming person you were. You will be missed and remembered in so many ways. You were IVAN THE GREAT!"

To celebrate Ivan's life, here is the last video he took at the last party he ever attended in Uganda before he fell ill.

Fans of both Ivan and Zari post their comforting messages to the family.

Zuena Kirema wrote, "This is so sad. May his soul RIP."

Doro Kats Boss added, "R.I.P. my friend. Those of us that knew the real you know how loving you were to every body even when you didnt know them. Hope and pray your kids will be loved back the way you did in this world. Hope Heaven receives you wth warm hands. Will forever miss bro Ivan Semwanga."

Kalyango Travour sent his condolences too saying, "I may be wrong of what i posted that Ivan Semwanga is dead so i come out to say sorry to the family of mr Ivan Semwanga, friends and well wishers but what i quote is that if they put ur frnd or relative on that oxgyen u have to pray hard for him or her i therefore say that forgive me."
