Kenyans are still coming to terms with the death of veteran journalist Waweru Mburu who died at MP Shah hospital on Wednesday night.

Waweru who was famed for his Yaliyotendeka program on Radio Citizen passed away after a long battle with gastric cancer.

Kenyans from all walks of life have been sending heartfelt condolence messages to his family hailing the deceased as an objective journalist.

Jacqueline Nyaminde, popularly known as Wilbroda, has joined the long list and revealed the cordial working relationship she had with Waweru Mburu.

Speaking to eDaily, the Papa Shirandula actress said the had a great time working with the deceased and one would hardly know that he was their boss.

“He was such an amazing boss; very down to earth. You would hardly know that he is a boss. He was also a gifted humorist. I will never forget his pieces of advice; always telling us to invest when we are still young and have an income. He also encouraged us to be givers. Waweru Mburu was selfless. He was not afraid to speak the truth.” 

Wilbroda also revealed the great loss that she had suffered as a result of Waweru's passing adding that he must be up there entertaining God and the angels.

"His demise is such a big blow, so unexpected. Pole sana to his family, Royal Media Services group, his friends and very many fans. God looked down and picked his best. Waweru Mburu must be up in heaven right now entertaining God and the angels,” she said.
