We have in the past heard Gloria Muliro's ex husband Pastor Eric Omba crying foul on how she took a restraining order against him.

What many do not ask themselves is why a couple that wed in church, looked happy and blissful would out of the blue, want to stay away from each other.

Speaking about their divorce, Pastor Eric said,

'I DON’T BELIEVE IN DIVORCE, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HER LAWYERS SAYING THAT I WAS HARASSING HER. I WAS A RESTRAINING ORDER AND I COULDN’T STAY WITH HER IN THE SAME ROOM BECAUSE IT IS 10 METRES.'

I USED TO CRY LIKE A SMALL BABY FOR HER TO FORGIVE ME. I WANTED TO WIN HER BACK.'

How to get a restraining order in Kenya.

  1. Make a written request in open court or through writing in the court registry.
  2. The court will make an order and the proceedings will be prepared and assessed for fees.
  3. Pay the required fees.

Why do people take a restraining order?

1. To stop against threatening or harassing behavior.

2. To stop domestic violence or abuse.

What are the consequences of a restraining order?

For the person to be restrained, having a restraining order against him or her can have very serious consequences:

He or she will not be able to go to certain places or to do certain things. He or she might have to move out of his or her home. It may affect his or her ability to see his or her children.
