Following the revelations below, contained in a statement on Getrude Mungai's blog after the tragedy of losing her unborn child, Mpasho took the initiative to investigate further.

'I was at that time working at Radio Jambo from ten pm to midnight; not that I had a problem with work, but by the time I got to work the lifts were already switched off so I had to climb stairs to the third floor...The radio station would pick and drop me off with the other staff in either a probox or an off road 4×4 both of which are not built for comfort!'

I went to Radio Jambo seeking the inside story of what could have happened during Getrude's stint there.

Getrude hosted a show at Radio Jambo during her pregnancy and trust me, pregnancy and work don't rhyme at all. Not that I have ever been pregnant, nah but I see lots of pregnant women, even though joy is written all over their faces, exhaustion and pain can be seen in their eyes every time they lift their feet to take a step.

But again first things first. When I got to the station, the first words I got were messages of condolence for Getrude and her family for their loss. The entire Radio Jambo team was sympathetic to what their former colleague was going through. The station Manager even took time to explain to me that more often than not, the well being of staff at the station is given priority and that transport and other essentials are provided by the company.

I looked at the working conditions at Radio Jambo for myself; and it's true, staff comes first.

Yet Getrude is going through so much right now because no pain can be compared to that of a mother losing a child. May God be with you Getrude.
