Gem MP and deputy minority chief whip Jakoyo Midiwo is admitted at Aga Khan hospital, Kisumu after fainting on Tuesday.

Midiwo felt dizzy at Kendu Bay town after a long day of campaigning for ODM Homa Bay senator candidate Moses Kajwang.

ODM member Albert Ojonyo, who resides in Homa Bay, told the Star that Midiwo had taken a helicopter to Nairobi for Parliament sessions but changed his mind.

It was then that he asked some boda boda riders to take him to the home of Peter Kaula, an MCA in Homa Bay.

About 30 riders jostled one another for the chance, intending to take Midiwo to a guest house and steal his briefcase after noticing that he was unwell.

The briefcase with Sh40,000 was grabbed amid the disorder.

Kaula's personal assistant Josy Owino noticed the boda boda operators and went to Midiwo's rescue.

Kaula rushed him to the hospital on Tuesday night.

Doctors reported that Midiwo passed out due to a drop in his blood sugar level, as a result of his diabetic condition.

Ojonyo said Midiwo is in stable condition and has been instructed to rest.
