Ladies and gentlemen, lads and lasses, a few weeks ago, Raila Oding was given a proper thrashing by an irate man and when the story broke, it not only brought Kenyans to tears but it also brought our VIPs security into view. Questions were asked such as,

How was it an elderly Kwale man could sneak past Raila's security personnel and manage to land two hot trokes of the cane on the national leader's back?

And it would seem other Kenyan leaders have started payingattention to their security. They do not want to end up the laughing stocks of the internets (those damn internets) and they do not want to be the butt of jokes.

And maybe that is what has inspired Sonko, the Nairobi Senator to upgrade his security. Either that or the whipping Raila Odinga received at the hands of an irate Kwale man. Check out how Sonko rolls these days:

Or maybe this is a testament to how little faith Kenyans place in their security apparatus to protect them. Perhaps Kenyans are scared they live in a gangster's paradise and so are taking necessary precautions to protect themselves and the ones that pay them.
