Police yesterday evening arrested a gang of three suspects in possession of a homemade pistol at Pier beach within Homa Bay town

Confirming the incident to KNA in his office, the Deputy County Police Commander Samuel Obara said that the suspects were arrested by the police after getting a tip-off from members of the public.

Obara said that the suspects were carrying the gun in a bag when the residents noticed it and reported the matter to the police in Homa Bay town.

The officer said that they suspect the culprits have been using the pistol for criminal activities within the county.

He further revealed that they have already called ballistic experts to establish if the pistol was functional adding that the gun had no bullets.

At the same time, Obara said that the suspects were currently being detained at Homa Bay police station for further interrogation on the possession of the pistol.

The commander applauded members of the public for their efforts and assured them that the suspects would be arraigned in court once investigations were completed.
