Ugandan opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has always been on the wrong side of the incumbent Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Numerous times he has been arrested, sometimes at his own home, for what... I don't know.

It's so funny that he was once arrested for saying that he will walk to work!! Ha! I walked from Kayole to Industrial Area in Nairobi and back for many years and no one ever dared to arrest me. Absolutely no one!! So, it baffles me that one could be arrested for walking to work! But it's none of my business. That's when I realised that kumbe ata Museveni hatakangi ujinga!!

Now, get this... As reported by the Daily Monitor in Uganda, a group of lawyers have condemned Uganda's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for allegedly violating Besigye's travel rights during the incident.

The lawyers want CAA to be brought to book for having allegedly connived with the police to "abduct" Besigye off the Kenya Airways flight. CAA however denied allegations that it aided the arrest of Kizza Besigye when he arrived aboard a Kenya Airways flight at Entebbe airport.

Reports have it that Uganda's police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi said that Besigye was arrested as a preventive measure. Lol! Arrested for what??? Besigye was returning to Uganda after a six week overseas working trip.

It remains to be seen if Besigye will also jump on the bandwagon and maybe contemplating taking similar action against Kenya Airways for "failing to ensure his safety and delivering him to his final destination."

Upon arrival at Entebbe, the KQ plane was raided by Ugandan security officers in commando style to arrest the opposition leader. He was immediately snatched and bundled into a vehicle.

In 2011, Besigye was denied access to board a KQ plane following intelligence reports that the aircraft would not be allowed to land at Entebbe International Airport if he was on board.

"The airline has now confirmed and issued Dr. Besigye and his wife tickets to depart Nairobi this the evening. The airline takes earliest opportunity to apologize to Dr. Besigye for any inconveniences caused," said the then Group Managing Director and CEO Titus Naikuni.
