Lewis Hamilton's hectic lifestyle shows no signs of slowing down after the world champion posted a number of videos of himself partying in Miami until the early hours of Thursday morning.

Hamilton, who has been cast 43 points adrift of his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg following the opening four rounds of the new season, headed straight to New York after the Russian Grand Prix to attend the Met Gala on Monday night.

From there, the 31-year-old Briton went to Athens before re-boarding his private jet for a short stop-over in London. He then flew out to Miami on Wednesday. Hamilton posted a live account of his trip to a nightclub via his Snapchat account.

In one of the videos, Hamilton, who has millions of followers across his social media accounts, is smoking what appears to be a shisha pipe. In another, he is seen dancing while seemingly holding a bottle of liqueur.

Hamilton, who last tasted victory at October's United States Grand Prix - a losing streak which stretches to seven races - is due to be in the Caribbean on Sunday where he is to appear as a special guest at the Barbados Festival of Speed.

Hamilton's defence of his championship has been fraught by a number of car failures, most recently in Russia where he suffered engine problems in qualifying and then the race. In contrast, Rosberg, who was at the Mercedes' factory on Thursday morning, has sauntered to four relatively straightforward victories.

Sceptics, largely on social media, have suggested that the Briton's team are deliberately sabotaging his car, but Mercedes took the unprecedented step of writing a open letter to ensure fans this is not the case.

Mercedes wrote: 'We have the best guys and girls in the world, doing an awesome job, week in and week out - and they do it for the team. Not for one driver or the other - but for each other. There is no A or B team here.'
