Kakuma is the 3rd largest refugees camp in the world that hosts close to 200,000 refugees from Somalia, Ethiopia, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Uganda, and Rwanda.

One thing no one tells you about the refugees who have been forcibly displaced from their home countries due to war or persecution is that they are incredibly talented.

Super talented producer R.Kay and Kidum are some of the refugees who've made it big in Kenyan Entertainment Industry. I was at Kakuma Refugee Camp for a week, and what I saw blew me away.

During the one-week workshop organised by (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) UNHCR and FilmAid, I met young, ambitious, creative and energetic kids who are super gifted. The video below will do the talking, but a serious recording label needs to pick up these fresh talents instead of wasting time on cool kids of Nairobi, who have money but sing about nothing.
