Fly with the angels! Photos of Kenyan pilot Yared who was behind controls when the ET 302 crashed

Emotional tributes to the 157 people who perished in the Ethiopian Airline 737-Max 8 continue to pour in. Kenya suffered a major loss after losing 32 of its citizens in the crash. Yared Mulugeta, the pilot of the ET 302 was half Kenyan.

Yared was born of two parents of mixed nationalities. His father is an Ethiopian and mother Kenyan. He was born and raised in Kenyan before moving to Ethiopia Aviation Academy to pursue his childhood dream.

The young pilot, who was devout Muslim was experienced and had flown for 12 years before the tragedy struck. He became senior captain of the Ethiopian airlines at 29 years old.

According to a family statement, Yared Mulugeta:

He always wanted to be a pilot. He was a go-getter, achieving anything he set his eyes on. We have lost one bright star, which was only getting brighter by day.

Prayers for the late pilot were held on March 12 at Masjid Baluch in Mombasa.
