Finally! Mandera Quarry Attack Victims' Families Compensated

Cases of insecurity have been on increase in the past few weeks with many people being killed by suspected Alshabaab militia groups in Mandera. Insecurity has raised fear especially among teachers and  the KNUT has vowed not to support the government incase they post teachers in areas with insecurity issues.

The Mandera county has given out 3 million shillings to the affected families through governors. The council of governors has called for a sober approach in restoring peace in Mandera following a series of killings. Isaac Ruto, the chairman of council of governors has called on the government to deploy more security personnel in the area to ensure no more attacks occur. He also  called on the government to involve governors in the county security management. Most of the quarry workers were from Kiganjo, Nyeri County.
