Viola Karuri is one lady many Kenyans will most likely not know. And why should you? She hasn't blown up yet like the mercurially talented and grammatically gifted Msupa S.

But her story is one that should get you interested in her. The singer is "so beautiful" that even cops notice. In an interview she gave to us, she recalled some rather interesting incident that had happened in her life.

Who is she by the way? She became a sensation to some after she did a rendition of 2017's biggest song Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.

That is not all, she also has her own original content that is based on her life experiences so far. She explained:

I sing about lives and that is where I get my inspiration.

Recalling the incident with the police officer, Karuri said she was pulled over while driving on Mombasa Road.

The cop told me to walk out of the car, and instead of checking my car, he started vibing me. I don’t know if he knew that I sing but what I remember is him asking me if he could wait for me.

That is what inspired her to come up with the song "Nitakungojea." The songbird is currently promoting her new song Leo featuring Tanzanian artiste Barnabas. She divulged:

The song talks about guys who promise things but never fulfill. I have seen guys promising to visit a girl’s parents but fail to fulfill their promises.

What does the future hold for this young artiste? Only time will tell.
