27-year-old Laura Oyier Ogolla was arraigned before Milimani Law Courts resident magistrate Edda Agade after allegedly failing to foot the bill of up to Sh229,505 she incurred at the Inter-Continental Hotel on Valentine's Day.

Laura, who is a musician, checked into the five-star hotel as a guest on January 27 and stayed on until February 16, 2015.

The prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Alice Njeru, told Ms Agade that the accused enjoyed various services during her 21-day stay at the high-cost hotel.

The prosecution alleges that the accused was sneaking out of the hotel and returning in the wee hours of the morning without being noticed by the staff at the reception.
