Nyeri County Assembly was in the news last year when they forced out one of their female members for what they termed as indecent attire. It seems that their hate does not stop there as the next news story is anything to go by.

A male MCA on Monday punched his female colleague as competition for committee slots turned into a fist fight in the Nyeri County Assembly.

Mweiga MCA Njuguna Kawanjiku thought the "honourable" chambers had turned into a and proceeded to punch Nominated MCA Beth Nyawira. This angered other nominated MCAs and her female colleagues.

According to the Nation, the female MCA's had been warned against talking to the media. Last year in November, four women holding chairperson positions in committees were ejected in a bid to “tame and discipline them”

Out of the 15 women MCAs, only three were elected on August 8, with the other 12 being nominated.
