The family of late Monica Kimani has for the first time spoken to the media after losing her.
In an interview with Citizen Digital, Monica’s father Paul Ngarama revealed that his daughter has been living in South Sudan for the past seven years but only moved back to the country three months ago. He said
She was a hardworking and successful lady who recently bought a car for her mum and who would work extra hard to take care of us.
The 28-year-old Monica Kimani, who was running a couple of family businesses was found lying lifeless in her bathtub in her Kilimani apartment. Yesterday, Joe Irungu was arrested by police over the murder and will be charged in court today.
Monica’s brother George Kimani revealed that she was friends with Joe, who’s Jacque Maribe’s boyfriend. He said the two schooled together in university back in 2012 but lost track only to reunite recently.
The two used to hang out regularly and Mr. Kimani intimated that Jowie at one time tried wooing Monica into a romantic relationship but she declined, apparently because he was ‘not her type’.
The late is set to be buried on Friday at her parents home in Gilgil.
