Governor Laboso Joyce was an iron lady. She was among the few women who broke the glass ceiling to make it in the male-dominated field.
In August 2008, she succeeded her sister Lorna, who died in a plane crash in Narok on June 10 the same year alongside former Cabinet Minister Kipkalya Kones.
Later in 2017’s general elections Dr Laboso successfully vied for the Bomet gubernatorial seat. She died while serving the people of the county 036.
Laboso’s fashion defined simplicity.
Unlike many political leaders who change to sophisticated lifestyles after being elected, Laboso maintained hers.
From braiding to weaving, Laboso’s hairstyles and dressing in skirt suits to long African print dresses, her style was classy.
Below are photos of Laboso’s signature hairdo showing she maintained her signature braiding and crochet hairstyles.
