Over the weekend a popular Kalenjin International singer perished together with his dancers in a tragic road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

Keneny International was in the car together with upcoming artiste Nicco En Embassy and five of his dancers. Their death is a big blow to the Kalenjin music fraternity.

Nicco En Embassy has shocked many who believe he foresaw his death.

“SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO BE ALONE IN A PEACEFUL AND SILENT ENVIRONMENT TO THINK ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND THE PEOPLE YOU CALL LOVED ONES!! 

WILL SHE BE ON YOUR SIDE WHEN YOU ARE SICK? WILL SHE STAND WITH YOU DURING DIFFICULTIES? WILL SHE STAND WITH YOU WHEN YOU ARE PRONOUNCED DEAD?

 WILL SHE HAVE THE COURAGE TO SIT BESIDE YOUR COFFIN DURING BURIAL? WILL SHE REMAIN SINGLE AFTER FUNERAL, OR SHE WILL JUST GET ONE IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU ARE LAID TO REST DURING SENT OFF CEREMONY? ASK YOURSELF MORE QUESTIONS THAN THAT! TAFAKARI HAYO NA NIMEENDA!”

That said, Nicco En Embassy in a past post also complained about how Kenyan fans never took their music and talent seriously. He stressed that there was need to show support for our own talent.

"I HAVE KEPT ON WONDERING WHY MOST Of US AS KALENJINS ARE NOT SUPPORTING OUR YOUNG AND TALENTED ARTISTS AS OTHER PEOPLE FROM OTHER TRIBES DO!!! IN FACT WE ONLY SUPPORT OTHER'S SONGS eg INDIAN SONGS, RIDDIMS of WISH MOST OF US DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THEM AND TERMING OURS AS '' UFALA''. PLIZ LET US CHANGE OUR ATTITUDE AND SUPPORT OUR TALENTED YOUNG PERSONS, KONYON OSOMOK AGO KOTOLELE ONYOIWON KAAT!!"

One fan, Korir Benard has taken to social media to mourn their death.

"My good God! I can't question your deeds in any way but this time...I am surely shocked," Korir wrote, "I remember as clear as if it was just a few minutes ago, the time we last met. It was Mwanachi Hotel where we shared some drinks at his expense and it turned out to be a session where we talked music and business talk, where we smoothly touched on Benga music featuring Kalee Hip Hop industry. We also talked of a collabo."

Korir added, "All we discussed will never be achieved the same way due to time malfunction, he is no more on the planet earth!!! God knows why. He loved you so much that he has chosen to start with you, bruh, even though we are going to miss you, your jams will forever chime on in our eardrums."

Keneny International was loved for his brand of music and his death is a big blow to the Rift Valley music scene.
