• Rashid Abdalla spoke to Mpasho about working with his wife, the success of his film production company, and working as a journalist.

• Rashid is set to unveil to telenovelas Zari and Kasiri in October

Film enthusiasts are gearing up for the official premiere of Zari and Kasiri courtesy of Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan on the 9th and 23rd of October respectively on Maisha Magic Plus.

Snippets of the film are available widely and the cast and crew urging fans to tune in.

Rashid spoke to Mpasho's Dennis Milimo at a private screening on September 18, about working with his wife, the success of his film production, and working as a journalist.

"Mimi napenda kazi yangu lakini yule niliye naye karibu yangu anipa nguvu ya kupenda kazi yangu zaidi"

Rashid was referring to his beautiful wife Lulu Hassan who co-produces films with him.

The two are the brains behind Jiffy Pictures.

"Anamapenzi ya dhati kwa kazi tunayo ifanya. Anamapnenzi ya dhati kupenda kusaidia vijana" He added how this also inspires him to push on.

"Hakuna mwigizaji mbaya, ni kama hajapewa fursa, lakini cha msingi ni ijapo apewa fursa zile sifa zikafanya akabweteka. Akasahau kuwajibitikia kazi yake. Sifa ni changamoto ufanye utie bidii."

"Lakini sifa isifanye kwamba umefika dunia ni yako, utapotea hautafika mahali hio ni siri kubwa. Nguvu zangu ziko hapo nyuma"

The Citizen TV newscaster loves working with his wife. He appreciates how she holds him to account.

"Kusema ukweli mimi sikuoa mrembo nimeoa rafiki yangu, kwa hivyo mimi sina wasi wasi kuwa na rafiki yangu inje ya nyumba na ndani ya studio."

"Ukifanya kazi na mtu ambaye ni rafiki yako hakuna fegisu fegisu ..unatoboa tu kwasababu mimi nafurahi tu niko na rafiki yangu. Rafiki ambaye ukikosea atakuambia ukweli , rafiki hakufichi labda rafiki wa uongo na rafiki analilia kukukosoa,".

Asked about the secret behind his success as a filmmaker, Rashid said;

"Kuomba na kujituma. Siri ni kuomba. Kwanza nashukuru yale mashirika yana tuamini kama vile Maisha Magic twashukuru, siri kutengeneza stori mzuri, siri kuwa na watu wazuri, kwanzia mpishi mpaka anayeendesha gari"

He says harmony amongst the entire cast and crew has seen their projects become successful.

"Ni ushirikiano, kama hakuna ushirikiano ya kudumu hakuna kuenda mahali"

Kenyans have reacted with praise for the couples latest film project.

Even Former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho couldn't hide his joy for the upcoming film, and producing content he loves.

On his Instagram stories, the politician told

"Couldn't be more proud of my bro and sis for the great work on supporting local content," He tagged Rashid and Lulu in his anticipation for the date of the premiere.
