Vasectomy is a tricky subject among Kenyan men.

This is because the more kids one has , the more pride they bring to the society.

In modern times and with the high cost of living most men are now opting to undergo a vasectomy as a method of family planning.

The procedure is done by cutting and sealing the tubes that carry sperm.

In an interview with Mpasho, Sam West says he can never and will never do a vasectomy.

" I would never undergo a vasectomy.

You might get to an age where God wants you to get another child, what would happen then?

Even back in the days people used to be castrated especially people who were working for kings.

But as for me I would never cut my tubes."

Prior to his divorce from singer wife Vivianne, Sam had revealed they were getting pressure to get a kid of their own.

The father of one at the time said kids do not make a union complete.

Speaking exclusively to Mpasho, Sam said people should stop assuming that adding kids to a family doesn't automatically mean there will be unity.

"I came with a child from a previous relationship so did she. Everyone keeps asking us to get a child of our own. There is pressure from our family, friends and society as a whole.

People tend to think that when you bring another child he/she will bring unity to the relationship."

Sam added,

"The truth of the matter is that the union of a relationship depends on whether the couple wants to be together or not. A child cannot be the reason a couple is together, it only helps strengthen a union."

Speaking about blended families during a past interview, Sam shared,

"It’s about the relationship with your partner. When you’re coming together, you were not in love with the kids, you were in love with your partner.

Ukimpenda unabeba kila kitu amekuja nayo. Ni kama Ngombe ukikula unakaula mpaka mkia. You have to make sure the relationship between your wife and yourself is intact." Said Sam.
