Mpasho was able to catch up with Frankie Just GymIt at the Tusker Nextersfest that took place in Eldoret this weekend. And of course, we had to ask the muscly hunk about Mother's Day.

He started off by wishing his good friend Awinja a Happy Mother's Day and celebrating all the Kenyan mothers before answering our questions.

What did Frankie admire about his own mom?

"Grit. She had a lot of grit. She put a lot of work in even when times were tough you would never see my mom cracking. Things would always be done."

What was the best thing that he had learned from his mom?

"How to save money. How to utilise the little that you have so that when you get money you can use it well. He who is faithful with little will be faithful with much."

Mpasho also spoke to musician Maandy who was like an open book as far as her mother came. How did Maandy normally celebrate Mother's Day?

"I normally take her out for lunch. I am booking a spa day for her tomorrow and maybe a nice dinner," she said.

What did Mandy most admire about her mom?

"I love that she is strong. That she has always fought for me and my sister. She supports me so much."

The one lesson that she had learned from her mom?

"God always comes through. At your best, at your worst."

Was her mom her favourite parent, we cheekily asked?

"I only have one so I have no choice."

Did Mandy want to become a mother in the future?

"No!" she said emphatically before explaining the reason for her answer. She said,

"I have never really envisioned myself being a mom. I think that it takes a lot for a woman to get a child, raise it and give it a good life. I just want a simple life. I will be the rich auntie for my sister's children."
