Award-winning Kenyan actress Kate actress is back in the country after a short stint in South Africa for the Netflix launch of the popular TV series Bridgerton, season 2.

Her close pals organised a surprise homecoming welcome at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after her successful trip.

The Sue and Johnnie lead actress could not hold back her emotions once she realised she had a welcome party waiting for her at the airport.

Among them was her husband and film director Phil Karanja who welcomed her back with a large bouquet of flowers before hugging her tightly.

Kate was dumbfounded posing for photos she said, "Oh my God! What is going on?"

Her pals also hired a bodyguard for her who trailed her all the way to her car once the festivities were over.

Other stars who were at the airport to welcome her back included, Neomi Nganga, Judy Nyawira, Daddy Marto among others.

They sung Kikuyu folk songs celebrating her safe arrival.
