Gospel musician Guardian Angel has embarked on a journey to commercialise his music on his own platform.
Speaking to Mpasho, Guardian described Solution as a platform that will be used for the distribution of audiovisual content.
Guardian explained how the concept of the platform will work for content consumers.
"You get to purchase content then you can be able to watch exclusively on the platform."
The singer explains that he was inspired to create the platform after seeing what artists have been going through in Kenya.
"We get to do a lot in creating content then we give them out on distribution platforms. The cut that we get is very minimal compared to the work and capital we put in," he said.
In conjunction with a few partners, Guardian provides other artists with the platform to sell their content.
"An artist can upload content and get something. You just sell the link to your fans. Any artist who comes on board gets a percentage of the revenue that is sensible compared to what we have been getting from streaming and distribution platforms," he said.
Content distribution platforms have proven to be the new commerce model in the music and arts industry.
Last year, Sauti Sol inked a deal to work with Hustle Sasa and their content was made available for purchase on the platform.
Internationally, Rapper Kanye West announced that his new album 'Donda 2' will only be available on his private content distribution platform named Stem Player.
