Kenya's female pilot Captain Ruth Karauri was honoured with a medallion after her stellar landing in Heathrow last month.
While celebrating Internatonal Women's day, Victoria Commercial bank honored Captain Ruth Karauri as a phenomenal woman.
She was hailed for flying a KQ flight through Storm Eunice and landing safely at the Heathrow Airport on February 18.
Ruth was gifted a unique medallion that resembled a flying plane.
The unique medallion is made of a wooden plaque, with a metal emerging from it and a carved plane.
Speaking at the event, Captain Ruth detailed that she was not scared while steering the plane.
"Bringing it down I was very focused, very calm. I said 'here we are, we have to do this...we can't stay in the air forever...we have to land.' After we landed I felt scared."
Other than Ruth, Victoria Commercial Bank also honoured charity organisations like Amara Charitable Trust and Asna Patel, who is a breast cancer warrior
In the spirit of celebrating women, the bank unveiled the Ultimate Woman proposition.
The bank's Women 4 Growth champion Marianne Nyangi highlighted the features of the Ultimate Woman including the quest to be financially savvy, having a secure future, being family-oriented and intending to live a full life.
