Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee says she did not have plans to become a mum.
Speaking recently, the mother of one, said the reason is that she had not found someone who made her want kids.
"If you know me from a few years ago, you know that I had no plans to be a mum and I didn't look forward to being a mum and I didn't want kids," she said.
"This was based on a fact that I had not met someone who made me want kids."
Vanessa recently welcomed a son with her lover actor Rotimi.
She said he made her want to be a mum.
"I thought I would just be a cool aunt. It was never my path though I love children. I didn't like it. First, forward to a few years later, I met a man who made me want to be a mum, a man who made me wanna share a legacy."
Vanessa was previously dating singer Juma Jux who recently said that the reason Vanessa did not get his child was that it was not the right time.
"Everything needs planning in life. When we dated, it was not in our plans to get a baby. If you fail to plan you fail in life. Getting a child with anyone is also a decision. It was also not her time to get a child."
Jux emphasized that he would never bow to pressure about anything in life.
"I cannot just get a child since everyone is saying I should get a child. I do not do things under pressure. I have no child yet but at the right time. I don't have any medical issues and we never discussed having a child with her. It was not the right time for us."
