Zora's actor Kwame says his mum was disappointed when he said he wanted to venture into the entertainment industry.
Kwame was pursuing a course in electrical engineering but called it quits midway.
Speaking to Mpasho.co.ke, the actor said that his dream was to become a rapper and that was what he was chasing.
"I did not finish the course because I wanted to pursue music. My parents were disappointed in me when I dropped out but I knew I wanted to make music,” he said adding that he has only practised the electrical course at his mom's house.
"My mum was disappointed when I said I did not want to continue with the course, she was like, 'I took a loan for you to go to school and you say you want to be in entertainment? Okay, do what you want now.' ," he said.
He said at the time, he did not know his mum wanted the best for him.
"At the time, I didn't understand her. It came from a place of love. My mum was trying to protect me from an industry full of disappointments, backlash and she was not comfortable with her son becoming a celebrity."
As a rapper, Kwame said he got to interact with different people and eventually, music started putting him in the entertainment scene.
"Eventually it pushed me to acting auditions. I started auditioning for TV ads but nothing worked but when I do it for programs, I would get a callback. It never got me then why I was getting callbacks for shows and not for ads. I started going for TV shows auditions."
