Quincy Rapando, alias Kwame from the ongoing TV show Zora is not only an actor but also a musician.

Kwame is a rapper who still believes that one day he will make it big in the music industry.

His love for the genre has seen him collaborate with several upcoming rappers and he has released several songs on YouTube including Narcos, Hype, Dance for Me, and Execution.

Speaking to Mpasho.co.ke, Kwame said he started singing after he saw his friends making music. He said music introduced him to the entertainment industry.

"I saw my friend making music one time and I asked if they felt like I could also make music. He was like, no, you don't look like music and that got me. It made me feel some type of way and I am very competitive, I thrive in situations where I am competing with people," he said.

"That is how I manage to be on top of the game, I take everything as a jungle where one of us has to win. there is never two winners.

I had nothing going on in my life then, it was just school and going home. I meet my friends and all of them are busy making music. Competitions mode was activated after one of my friends said I could not become a rapper."

He added that he wishes he started singing while he was a bit older to produce good quality music.

"I started going to gigs and that paved way for everything else that I am today," he said.

"I cringe when I see some of these songs, I am happy that I did music, however, it would have been better if I released this music when I am a bit grown.

It would have been different in terms of quality, what I am saying in the music and terms. I could have done better, there is a track I love and there are those I don't want to even listen to, why, since I am very shy.

Makes me not want to listen to music around people, I always feel people will judge me with the music.

It bothers me to imagine people would have not liked my music."

Kwame said he stopped singing after he realised he could not multitask.

"Acting did affect my music since as an actor, it got to a point where I was not giving my all," he said.

"Acting limits the amount of time since I am always on set. I tried making music while on set and I realised I wasn't being original. I realised it's not adding up."
