Chimano on reason Sauti Sol are doing solo projects

Chimano of the famous boy's band, Sauti Sol, has said the group has not broken up adding they are tight kama kifuniko ya gas.

In an interview with Mpasho, Chimano said that they decided to do solo projects to help grow the individual talents they have.

'We have been together since our high school days so at some point you may not who you are as an artist. As an individual, you sometimes want to explore your talent.

If it's about kukosana we would have done so a long time ago. Doing a solo project is a way for the brand to reinvent itself. It's not a preparation for anything.

It reminds us that even as an individual we are still talented. We still write songs for each other and everything is seamless.'

Chimano will be releasing an EP in February 2022. In the meantime, he says he will be headlining a show dubbed Harmony Festival.

'On the 26th of February there will be a love and Harmony festival and I will be the headliner. Given I do not have many songs, I will be baptized by fire but I promise to give my fans a great show.

Chimano's first solo was 'Friday Feeling' which is from the album 'Heavy is the crown'.

'The song is about friendship, love, heartbreak, and insecurities. The song is about you wearing your crown and not seeking validation from people.'
