Gospel singer Daddy Owen has said his brother Rufftone has apologised for a slur he made on live TV.

In an interview with Mpasho, Daddy Owen said he has never carried a panga on his brother as the latter claimed in a recent interview.

"He apologized yesterday. He said it was a mistake."

Daddy Owen explained that Rufftone uttered the words, while in a real sense he meant to use it as an illustration.

"I was also shocked, we had a family meeting yesterday, we discussed, and he admitted he was wrong. He admitted that he wanted to use whatever he said as an illustration of how people can get passionate about politics but it came out badly. He says he used a bad illustration to put a point," Daddy Owen said.

The Mbona singer said that Rufftone- who is new in the political arena was misunderstood by viewers.

"People misunderstood him. We met yesterday...I asked him what happened. He said he is still fresh in the political arena, there are times he finds himself in a fix."

In a live TV discussion, Rufftone said that the ODM party is made up of violent people. He gave an example of how his brother, Daddy Owen once attempted to attack him after a political disagreement.

This, Daddy Owen denied, saying he has never confronted his elder brother.

"What I know is I have never carried a panga, never confronted my big brother(Rufftone) He apologized yesterday. He said it was a mistake," he said.
