Grandpa Records CEO and founder of the Simama na Kibra Foundation, Yusuf Noah aka Refigah held a book launch drive at Kibera Primary School grounds on Saturday.
Speaking during the launch, Refigah said the aim of the event was to build a library and a resource centre in Kibera slums for approximately 80,000 students from underpriviledged families.
The children are set to get a better education, hence the aim to ask members of the public to contribute books, desks, computers, and more educational materials.
Guests at the event were entertained by Nubian Cultural dancers belonging to the minority Nubian community in Kenya.
The Guest of Honour of the event was Consul General of Antigua and Barbuda to Nigeria ambassador Brig. General Wallace Williams.
He was also accompanied by Nigerian music producer Mr. Magic, filmmaker John Legend and Kenya Nubian Council of Elders first vice-chairman Ibrahim Ahmad Said.
