For Lwako Bonnie, fashion is like the air he breathes unlike most of us who just wear clothes to cover our nakedness.

His love for fashion saw him win the 'Male model of the year 2021'.

Speaking during an interview with Mpasho, Bonnie says he has no regret joining the modelling industry.

"I have always loved fashion as it inspires people to dress better. The best thing about modelling is getting to showcase my talent, representing the country internationally and working with different brands across the Globe.

Among the brands I have worked with is Paledi Segapo from South Africa, I have also partnered with other brands but I cannot mention them at the moment.

Being a model in Kenya pays."

Bonnie says most people 'fail' by choosing the wrong niche hence end up giving modelling a bad name.

He added that for him it's more of a calling hence he balances between work and modelling.

He has modelled since his campus days and through it, all his parents have been his biggest cheerleaders.

"Modelling is diverse and you just have to know where you fit."

My parents have always supported me since I was in campus. I tend to balance between work and modelling."

His biggest highlight for 2021 was winning the 'Male Model of the year ' award.

Speaking on how he felt about winning he says,

"It feels great knowing that people out here notice and appreciate the efforts that I make in the fashion industry and my efforts to take modelling to the next level in Kenya. This has encouraged me to work harder."

It has for a long time been said that the modelling industry is full of sexual exploitation, is it true? we asked

"I have never experienced sexual exploitation and it also depends on how you carry yourself as a brand."

Asked what his plans for 2022 are, Bonnie shared,

"My plans this year is for me to launch my fashion clothesline called Lwako Couture and work harder as a content creator."

His message to anyone who wants to join the modelling industry?

"Modelling isn't easy, you have to be patient and work hard. Nothing comes easy in this life."
