Nairobi County Assembly Minority Whip, Peter Imwatok, on Saturday surprised his mum with a house worth Ksh 5 Million to celebrate her birthday.
Speaking to Word Is, Imwatok said he was appreciating her for raising him and educating their family.
"Yeah this is my small gift for her she has made me who I am today and I must appreciate her so much," he said.
"Things were difficult for us as a family but through her hard work she stood with us, took care of us despite those challenges, and am now happy that we can comfortably put food on the table."
Imwatok's family grew up in Makongeni and he said affording a meal was a nightmare. He worked as a security officer to pay for his fees before venturing into business.
In 2007 he vied as an MCA for the Makongeni Ward but failed to win the ODM ticket. In 2013, he was elected as the MCA Makongeni Ward MCA under the ODM party and was reelected in 2017.
"My mother has been walking with me, advising me and she was there for me and supported me fully...I must appreciate this."
