Lilian Nganga and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua were long term partners and not wife and husband.

Lilian has clarified her relationship with the governor saying they are no longer friends.

In a press conference with her lawyer Philip Murgor, Lilian said she has been receiving threats from the governor.

"Alfred and I have not spoken since August this year. We were longtime partners but definitely not married to him. We were not legally married but long term partners," she clarified.

Lilian further accused Governor Mutua of gaining access to a vehicle she allegedly owns and having it sold.

Lilian said she ended her relationship Alfred Mutua in early June this year but the governor has refused to move on.

"Mr. Mutua is overreacting to our separation. Whilst I indicated that I wanted to move on with my life, he thought otherwise," the statement said.

"At a meeting at the Windsor Golf and Country Club on 22nd September 2021, in the company of two mutual friends, and after the two criminal incidents, I requested him for a mature and amicable separation and reminded him that, after all, we were not married."

Lilian publicly requested governor Mutua to cease threatening her life, and those around her.

"Mr. Mutua should stop his arrogance, wanton abuse of power, manipulation and bullying. He needs to get a life and move on."
