In 2017 motivational speaker Sam West set the proposal bar high after he proposed to his then-girlfriend Vivianne during a live TV show.

The proposal elicited different reactions but the fact remained that Vivianne was officially off the market.

Speaking exclusively to Mpasho, Sam gives Kenyan men a few tips on how to identify when to propose usikubali kuzeeka pekee yako.

He must ensure he understands self-identity.

He should know who he is.

Until you are single enough then you are not ready for marriage. You should be complete by yourself.

Do not propose because you are looking for someone to complete you. Only propose when you feel complete and you are only looking for someone to compliment you.

Have a job

Sam says broke men should not even consider proposing.

"Broke men don't propose to anyone.

She is coming to help, but what is she helping if you do not even have a job.

She will end up doing her own stuff. Women are multipliers but what will she multiply if you have nothing in the first place?"

He should understand what value /purpose is

A man should only propose once he understands what his purpose on earth is.

It is not the role of a woman to help you identify your purpose, it is an inside job.

Willing to protect his woman

Protection comes in many forms it may be protecting her from toxic friend's, in-laws and the society as a whole.

He must be in a position to improve his woman

When you come into a woman's life you must add value to her life, If she had a business you help her grow it.

If she was in school you can help her finish.

Be ready to teach the word of God

Before proposing it is paramount for a man to establish a relationship with God.

As we all know nothing can work without God being at the centre of it all.
