In-laws have for a long time been seen as devils on earth.

While most in-laws are toxic there are heaven-sent in-laws whom many of us would want to have.

In an exclusive interview with Mpasho, motivational speaker Sam West says it's the duty of your partner to protect you against your in-laws especially if they are toxic.

"When you are getting married to one person and not the entire family. The only person you should be accountable to is your partner.

Your partner should protect you. It's not right for you to be harassed by your in-laws when your partner is watching.

Your partner's number one priority should be to protect you."

Sam says it's also a very bad thing when in-laws start demanding material things just because you have married their daughter.

"I know of a man who was demanding for a car from the brother-in-law because he has married his sister.

Tabia kama hizo ni mbaya sana."

What's the worst/best thing that has ever been done to you by your in-laws?
